Safe Saskatchewan's Rebecca Trail becomes a summer BBQ Activity Print this Article

Since the Rebecca Trail’s inception, Safe Saskatchewan has been quite busy booking materials and coordinating times for the Trail’s next appearance.

In these past two weeks, Safe Saskatchewan’s Rebecca Trail has made two more appearances in both Regina and Estevan, Saskatchewan. Between the McLurg School Family BBQ event and the Sherritt Coal staff BBQ more than 80 children were ‘badged’ as they made their way through the Rebecca Trail riddles, activities and trivia questions.

The Rebecca Trail is a safety scavenger hunt that teaches children and youth that they have the ability to protect their own families through injury prevention. Rebecca Activities and Riddles were incorporated into both BBQ activities, and at the end of each hunt children received a Rebecca Activity Sheet.

“This Trail seems to fit nicely with family summer events such as BBQs,” comments Gord Moker, CEO of Safe Saskatchewan. “It is Safe Saskatchewan’s hope that the success of these events spreads throughout our province and more children get the opportunity to participate in our Rebecca Trail.”
