Founding partners lead the development of Safe Saskatchewan through representation on the Board of Directors and Steering Committee.

 

The Saskatchewan Safety Council is a non-government, non-profit charitable organization dedicated to preventing injuries and fatalities in the province. Through training, education and advocacy, they are working to make safety a priority for everyone. The Saskatchewan Safety Council’s mission is to work together to achieve a safe Saskatchewan.  

 

WorkSafe Saskatchewan focuses on keeping our province’s workers safe through effective occupational heath and safety management systems. Basic elements of their philosophy include: understanding workplace roles and responsibilities, worker education and training, health and safety promotion, as well as a return-to-work and disability management program.  

 

IPSCO Inc. is a publicly traded corporation with operations spanning the United States and Canada. The company operates facilities that have the capacity to make 4,300,000 tons of steel annually. IPSCO believes safety is a state of mind. While financial success is paramount, of equal importance is ensuring all employees and workers are safe on and off the job. 

 

The Ministry of Health supports all Saskatchewan residents in achieving their best possible health and well-being. The Ministry establishes policy direction, sets and monitors standards, provides funding, supports regional health authorities, and ensures the provision of essential and appropriate services.

 

SGI has two distinct operations. The Saskatchewan Auto Fund is the province’s compulsory auto insurance program, operating the driver’s licensing and vehicle registration system. SGI CANADA is fully competitive, selling property and casualty insurance products such as home, farm, business and extension auto.

  

Saskferco Products Inc. is a private company owned by Mosaic and Investment Saskatchewan. Saskferco is proud to hold the current status as an industry leader in the production of granular urea and anhydrous ammonia. Safety is of the utmost importance at Saskferco. A series of initiatives and practices including a detailed safety manual and regular safety meetings support their focus on safety.

Sherritt is the largest thermal coal producer in Canada. Sherritt's Prairie Operations run eight mine-mouth mines in Alberta and Saskatchewan. These mining operations supply electricity generation companies with coal under secure long-term contracts. Sherritt ranks consistently among the best health and safety performers in Alberta, Saskatchewan and internationally, when compared to other companies involved in surface mining, processing, oil and gas, and power generation.

   

SaskPower is Saskatchewan's electricity supplier. Using their own coal-fired, hydroelectric, natural gas-fired and wind facilities, it has a generating capacity of more than 3.214 megawatts. Safety is a priority across the SaskPower Corporation, from their power stations and grid control centre to their district offices.
