Safety Education Strategy Steering Committee
Early research proved children can have a profound effect on behavioural change in society, so Safe Saskatchewan set its sights on the children and youth of our province. Early collaborations between the Curriculum and E-Learning Branch of the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education, WorkSafe Saskatchewan and Safe Saskatchewan began taking place in 2009. The focus was on capturing current injury prevention activities and exploring ways to incorporate further injury prevention initiatives into the Saskatchewan school system.
Recently, a Safety Education Strategy Steering Committee was formed. Together, we have set the foundation to develop a collaborative, provincial strategic framework aimed at sharing and providing sustained resources for integrating injury prevention into the four components of a comprehensive school community framework.
