The purpose of the Health and Safety Leadership Charter is to form the foundation for a cultural shift in the way Saskatchewan leaders view injuries and injury prevention. The Health and Safety Leadership Charter advocates for the continuous improvement of healthy and safe workplaces and communities. After signing the Charter, leaders are invited to join the Leadership Learning Community and continue the discussion. On June 9, 2011, 68 Saskatchewan organizations declared their commitment to the health and safety of their employees and communities by adding their name to the list of 200 business and government and community leaders who signed the Health & Safety Leadership Charter in 2010. Safe Saskatchewan would like to thank everyone who made this event possible. Through the efforts of these committed leaders, Saskatchewan is working to become the safest province in which to work and play. Signatories have pledged to accept and encourage Mission: Zero one task at a time, and are striving to make Mission: Zero a reality for all workplaces and communities. Signing the Charter is one way you can showcase your commitment to this worthy cause and connect with other leaders who feel the same way. Once you sign the Charter, there are expectations placed on you as a leader, but there are also expectations of the organizers to help you measure and monitor your own organization’s injury prevention awareness and connect you with the leadership learning community. This is all part of helping you, an ambassador of the Charter, actualize the Charter principles and make a difference.
