Safe Saskatchewan and its founding partners are excited to be a part of the 8th Annual SGI/Roughriders Play It Safe Day. Last year, the Kids Check Passport developed by Safe Saskatchewan reached over 1,500 kids and their families. This year, Safe Saskatchewan is focusing on providing children with pragmatic tools and interactive information that teach the value of being injury-aware.

Regina, Monday, July 7, 2008         Safe Saskatchewan on the right Track

Safe Saskatchewan’s mission of working together to eliminate unintentional injuries in Saskatchewan has been reinforced with the release of the “Saskatchewan Comprehensive Injury Surveillance Report, 1995-2005”. Released in July of 2008 by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Health, this report focused on facilitating the development of evidence-based injury prevention policies and programs.

Off-the-job injuries are costing Saskatchewan businesses millions of dollars a year. According to Safe Saskatchewan’s most recent findings not only does Saskatchewan shoulder an annual economic burden of $1 billion from preventable injuries, but businesses in the province are feeling the impact on their bottom line.

Regina, April 27, 2007        Saskatchewan Struggles with Staying Safe

Safe Saskatchewan has just completed a number of research projects in an effort to
understand why Saskatchewan’s injury rate is one of Canada’s highest. Qualitative and quantitative research was undertaken from November 2006 to March 2007 to gather feedback from over 2,000 Saskatchewan residents across the province.

Regina, March 16, 2007        Safe Saskatchewan to raise awareness about farm and ranch injuries

From March 14-20, 2007, organizations across Canada will be running initiatives related to agricultural safety during Canadian Agricultural Safety Week. This year’s theme “Protect Your Moving Parts!” has been embraced by Safe Saskatchewan. The impact of unintentional injuries in Saskatchewan, including those related to farm and ranch injuries, has been estimated at $1 billion a year.

Regina, March 16, 2007        EVENT and MEDIA ADVISORY

Safe Saskatchewan will host a media conference on Friday, March 16th, 2007,
to facilitate two announcements. The first relates to its involvement with Canadian Agricultural Safety
Week. From March 14-20 2007 organizations across Canada will be running initiatives related to this
year’s theme of “Protect Your Moving Parts!” The second announcement will welcome SaskPower to
Safe Saskatchewan as the newest partner.
