We can help
Safe Saskatchewan’s mandate of decreasing unintentional injuries has led us to support many injury prevention organizations. We would like to continue working with as many groups as possible, no matter how specialized their interest in a specific injury prevention area.
| Gord Moker, CEO of Safe Saskatchewan, has been presenting all over Saskatchewan explaining how our unintentional injury epidemic is hurting our entire population. Would you like Safe Saskatchewan to present to your organization? Presentation Synopsis Saskatchewan has an unhealthy workplace and off-the-job unintentional injury rate: our injury hospitalization rate is twice the national average and our death rate is 1.4 times the national average. The annual cost of unintentional injuries to the provincial economy is $1 billion - the human cost of pain and suffering is immeasurable. Stressing the importance of moving towards a more holistic view of injury prevention, this is one presentation that extends beyond the workplace and into the community. Each individual can help to end our injury epidemic by taking on the responsibility for their own safety and the safety of their family, their friends, their co-workers and others in their community. Each individual has the power to make a difference. "At work, home or play, let's make safety part of a better way of life!" Comments about Safe Saskatchewan’s presentation "Gord helped me realize everyone has a part to help out when it comes to safety” “Gord knew his material well and passed it on very well; appreciated the stories and experiences that were shared” “Obviously very committed to reducing injuries, makes you revved up to be more aware of injuries and causes” |
