Child Injuries

Fact

Every year, from June to August in Canada, at least one child will drown every two weeks. Each day, there will be a near-drowning incident.

Drowning is one of the leading causes of death in Canadian children ages one to four.

An estimated 20,000 to 30,000 Canadian children every year need medical attention due to playground injuries.

Falls account for almost three quarters of all child injuries.
